  * Veritas.CoD4 Video Interview at I36
Published by Bond 18.04.2009,14:27 READ MORE / COMMENT (6)

Our Call of Duty 4 team went to i36 with very little expectation on their back after a very poor preperation for the lan with activity problems and line up changes less than 5 days before the event hitting the team hard. They did however manage to put in a very respectable performance with a 13 - 10 win over 7th seeds Sypher and narrow losses 10 - 13 vs 2nd seeds Reason Gaming and 11 - 13 vs 4th seeds fnatic in the lower bracket.

After they were knocked out on the Saturday evening Tek-9's wizinium caught up with the guys for a light hearted and jovial interview at 1 am with the guys a little worse for wear after an evening of drinking having been knowkced out.

In the interview from left to right: Unreal, Thorpy, myStylez, luNAAR, Gizzor and Infused Chenson.

Here is the Interview:

  * Veritas Removes Counter Strike Team
Published by Bond 18.04.2009,13:59 READ MORE / COMMENT (6)

Over the last few weeks there has unfortunatly been a large amount of inactivity in our Counter Strike 1.6 Team. Some of the guys have lost the motivation to play the game, which has led to a situation were active has come down to near nothing. This in turn has resulted in no practice at all and performance in offical match not reaching the required standed. There for Veritas Gaming has decided to release its current Counter Strike 1.6 squad effective immediately.

Saying good bye to the line up of:

United Kingdom Aaron 'aaron' Hemmings
United Kingdom Michael 'm1kke' Paddock
Sweden Jens 'Murdy' Clarberg
United Kingdom Daniel 'punt' Dougherty
United Kingdom Matthew 'zeox' Goode

We would like to thanks the guys for the few months they have been with us and wish them good luck in what ever they decided to do next.

  * i36 - The big one
Published by unreal 14.04.2009,17:48 READ MORE / COMMENT (9)

Last weekend Veritas' CoD4 & CSS teams both attended Multiplays i36 even at Stonleigh Park in Coventry. Going into the event we had very high hopes for both our teams, with our CSS team being seeded 7th and our CoD4 team seeded 10th we felt the lower seeds could really benifit us and we would smash them both.

Right from the get go the LAN was eventful, with GizZoR's PC not turning up untill the very last minute, we finally all got the the event safe and sound, time for a few quick PCW's before we all went to bed to get ready for the next day.

We agreed to meet up at 9am on the Friday so everyone could get prepared for the task ahead, and the CoD4 guys were true to their word, however raisins and the rest of the CSS guys were still not here at 12pm which lead to a frantic rush to get them all signed up to the CSS tourney zunge raus

The groups started as planned with our teams coming up trumps with all their games, after a massive scare with MrK's PC which wouldnt connect to the network we managed to get him on FluXes computer to play their penultimate group match which they won with ease dispite MrK practically ermining zunge raus <3

After the group stage everything was going to plan, CSS were topping their group and CoD4 were 2nd in theirs after a loss to Reason.

The first stage of the brackets would see CSS going up vs GEClan, a team I had not heard of before, and they didn't cause many problems going down with a simple 16-9. CoD4 were drawn up against mix team INTOODEAP, who were completley outclassed in a 13-3 win.

Second stage of the brackets were to prove a bit more difficult for the CoD4 team, coming up against a Sypher team who were playing extremley well and turning a lot of heads, we were expected to lose this, but in an epic game we came out ahead 13-10, drawing in a big crowd behind us it was a great win! The CSS team came up against Rasta-Gaming, who were no match for them in a 16-7 win.

Third stage now, and things started to get hot! CSS were drawn up against LLL on our worst map. It was always going to be a really hard game, and although taking a promising lead on CT we were no match for LLL on T and failed to take a round, despite a solid performance the guys were really downhearted that it ended how it did and it ended 16-7 to LLL. CoD4 were drawn up against [R]eason, a team who had beaten them quite comfortably in the group stage, however we knew that we had what it took to beat them, and we were drawn on a strong map for us, citystreets. The game started as well as it could have, we went 8-1 up! But after that Reason adapted very well, and some silly mistakes saw Reason come back to take the win 13-10. A game we really should have won.

Fourth stage saw both of our teams down in the Lower Bracket, 1 more lose and we were out. CoD4 were put up against the hot swedish Fnatic side on crossfire, a weak map for us, but a strong map for them. Still we went in and battled to avoid Fnatics well worked and timed nades and wallbang spots and despite taking 1-2 nade kills a round we were leading 11-9 going into the final rounds. But again, some silly mistakes cost us dear and Fnatic came back to take the game 13-11. A very unlucky and frustrating result saw us crash out of the tournament in a bitter 9th-12th place, it annoyed the team as we knew that with a bit more luck we could have easilly gone on to achieve top 5.

However the CSS guys were still in and drew GLG, another team that was unknown to me, but in a game that was a bit too close for comfort came up trumps 16-13. Putting us in the quarter finals!

Next up was the match that everyone wanted to see. Veritas vs FM! Toxic. It was always going to be an epic game, and watching it was nothing short of gut wrenching. In an extremely long and even game Veritas were the ones that came out screaming 16-14, one of the highlights of our LAN and certainly a result to be proud of!

Semi-Finals now and we were up against former Birmingham Salvo team Dignitas! A team who were perhaps not as strong as in their CGS days, but none the less world class. We were lucky with the map draw, getting them on our best map (Inferno).The game started badly and didnt get better with a couple of the team not playing to their normal immaculate standards we sunk to defeat 16-4 and out in a highly respectable 4th-5th place.

So the gaming was over and it was time to drink! Overall we had a terrific LAN, the CSS guys have done a great job for us, and so to have the CoD4 guys, who although their final placing does not look good, if you look at their games they were amazing and just very unlucky!

Well done lads, you've done us proud!

  * Veritas CS 1.6 Lineup Changes
Published by zeox 03.03.2009,19:17 READ MORE / COMMENT (9)

After our fairly poor performance at Wired Out, finishing 5th/6th, the Counter-Strike 1.6 team has decided to make changes to the lineup. This was no easy decision by all means and has took some thinking, but we feel we have made the right choices to help us go forward and achieve our goals. The player leaving the team is cpr who we wish all the luck in the world as he's a top guy and a good player, while kalleh will also be going inactive due to not having the time or thrive to play CS anymore. I'm pleased to announce we can now tell you who the players coming in are, both having played for vitalsigns at the recent WiredOut LAN we hope they can bring their performances to Veritas CS 1.6 and excel under our banner. The players coming in are aaron and Murdy, we wish them all the best and hopefully this will improve Veritas for 2009.

This leaves the squad as;

United Kingdom Aaron 'aaron' Hemmings
United Kingdom Michael 'm1kke' Paddock
Sweden Jens 'Murdy' Clarberg
United Kingdom Daniel 'punt' Dougherty
United Kingdom Matthew 'zeox' Goode

  * Veritas.CoD4 replace sKit with ex-Oslo Lions GiZzOR
Published by redpin 01.03.2009,18:51 READ MORE / COMMENT (8)

Yesterday, the Call of Duty 4 team announced to their departure in the player sKit who will be sorely missed by the CoD4 team and has decided to take a break from gaming to focus on "real life". Filling his spot in the team will be none other than GiZzOR who is known for his time in OsloLions, and we hope can contribute using his experience to bring the team to new lengths

The reformed  Veritas-Gaming.CoD4 lineup consists of

United Kingdom Thorpy
United Kingdom myStylez
United Kingdom germaine
United Kingdom sKit
Norway GiZzOR

GiZzOR, Statement on Tek-9:"So, after countless tries with a Norwegian lineup, without anything working out for more than a couple days, I finally realized that it was not meant to be. Then one day the big_G approached me and asked if I wanted to play a little for Veritas, and see how things turned out.. We had some games together and I seemed to be a perfect fit, both playing-style and personality-wise. These lads are a really nice lot to play with, and I'm happy I decided to give it a go. Really had fun being in a clan with robonz and PSIR for over a year, and will really miss them, but I guess I've just gotta move on. Shoutouts to Chenson, everyone in fastSwitch/Oslo Lions, the rest of Infused, hawki, [R], the NCC guys, and everyone else I've missed. Love y'all and perhaps CU@LAN "
