Types of Games

There are two main variants with slight changes to the layout of the wheel, but with significant changes in the casino advantage. Those variants are European and American roulette. Below we give the main characteristics of American and European roulette. Roulette is one of the oldest games of chance. Nowadays, there are many variations of this game, as in other casino games like blackjack or poker:

In both games, American and European Roulette, players can place bets on the numbers 1-36 and 0, and in American roulette, there is an additional number – 00. Due to extra double zero casino has a greater advantage over the players. It also allows another bet – covering five numbers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 6-1 payment.This is considered the worst bet in roulette, in terms of probabilities – ie not only the worst American roulette offers advantage to the player, it also allows the worst possible bet in roulette.

European Roulette

As we have already discussed, the European, as is now known, remains as the most popular variant of roulette, naturally due to improved benefits offered to the player. The rules are almost the same, but there are some things to consider before you start playing.

 

A curious aspect, is the fact that the presence of numbers and how they are made available on the roulette wheel is different in relation to American Roulette – European, the numbers are distributed in a different way than the American.  Beyond this interesting detail, it should be noted the fact does not have the number – 00 – which reduces the house edge to 2.7%.

American Roulette

 

The American roulette,  coexisted with the European version. But when it came to the United States of America, the owners of the casino introduced only version 00. The full adoption of the 00 version of this game, from most casinos in the U.S.,  is the reason why this specific is known as the American roulette.

 

The American roulette is less interesting for the player, as mentioned above, since it favours even more the casino. The numbers are distributed on the roulette wheel differently than in European Roulette.

French Roulette

Sometimes the French roulette is defined as another variation of the game, while in fact, is the original version of European roulette. The only difference is that it offers more betting options compared to most played in physical casinos, although this distinction is decreasing with the computerized versions of European roulette.

 

These bets are placed on certain groups of numbers to cover certain sectors of the wheel. As a result, a special betting layout is added to the table:

The player has to place chips to cover at least partially a certain group of numbers. The numbers are automatically as you pick a certain group of bets.  One of the numbers covered by the winning bet is paid 35:1.
